Porsche 911 Track Day

I have several models of the Porsche 911, a veritable motoring icon. These are the ones around 1:64 – 1:55 scale. This is not my first post about the Porsche 911.

Some are still in their packaging.

The most recent addition was a Bburago model here in blue next to a green model by Siku.

Because it is a popular model with collectors, it is manufactured by several different diecast brands allowing for brand comparison.

Here the green one is by Siku, 911 Carrera S the scale is about 1:55. It has rubber tyres and clear plastic inserts for the lights, also the doors open. It is the most expensive of the models  (9 lari 90). The orange model is a Matchbox 911GT3, scale 1:60 (I also have this casting in blue and white). The black Hot Wheels 911 GT3RS is slightly smaller than the Matchbox model closer to the nominal 1:64, with a GT3RS tampo on the side. The blue model is Bburago’s “1:64 scale” (but closer in reality to 1:55) 911 Turbo, this was 5 lari 90. It has painted headlights, a nice casting but like with other Bburago models the wheels seem cheap and generic. The silver model is the plainest this is a Majorette 911 Carrera, here they retail at 6 lari 90, which is quite pricey when the Hot Wheels and Matchbox models are just 4 lari 90. My favourite in the group is the Matchbox model but I love them all. ($1 = 2.17 lari).

I have a few cabriolets, too but prefer the hardtop.
